Daniel Sullivan

Daniel photographs the patterns of ancient culture through the beauty of their customs, rituals and ceremonies. As the integrated fabrics of human intelligence we call culture continue to disappear, he photographs the essence and spirit of these ancient civilizations.

His themes are born of his fascination for history, architecture and belief systems. He travels off the beaten path to those small hamlets of culture where the layers of tribe, belief and ritual still remain strong.

For the past 20 years, he has been taking photographs in Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa, documenting the human spirit. His photographs and essays have explored Afghanistan’s refugees, the Tribes of Ethiopia's Omo River and the Eagle Hunters of Mongolia.

His photographs have been on display at the Hui No'eau Visual Arts Center in Maui, The Affordable Art Fair in London, Davies-Reid Galleries in Sun Valley, Idaho, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and been published in The Daily Mail, Range Finder Magazine, The British Medical Journal, The Times Picayune, and The Morning Advocate.
